Michele McColligan is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Indiana University, her master’s degree in School Counseling at the University of West Georgia and her specialist degree in counseling and traumatology at Liberty University. Michele has over 20 years’ experience in the social services and mental health field and currently works as a school counselor in Paulding County.
Michele is a certified anger management specialist, CAMS II, and a certified yoga teacher, CYT. She uses a variety of therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and solution focused brief therapy to provide personalized treatment for her clients.
Michele also provides yoga cognitive behavioral therapy which is a unique blend of gentle movements, stretches and breathing techniques along with psychotherapy that can provide relief for stress, anxiety, depression and symptoms of PTSD. She also provides cognitive processing therapy, CPT, for trauma and PTSD. Please note that while cognitive processing therapy has been clinically proven to be an effective treatment for trauma and PTSD, it requires a high level of commitment from the client. Sessions run 8-12 weeks and sessions are twice weekly.
Michele resides in Paulding County with her husband, son and her dog Mojo. She is a grandmother of three and enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, and gardening.
